brief history of Chanel

Chanel stands for luxury, perfection and elegance. Chanel’s design is filled with multiform elements: sophisticate, fantastic or gentle, any feelings you can image.
In 1909, Gabrielle Chanel opened a small shop on the ground floor of the Balsan’s apartment in Paris - the simple beginnings of what would later become one of the greatest fashion empires in the world. With Arthur Capel (a member of the Balsan men’s group and the only one who worked for a living), Coco struck a relationship with. He saw a great potential businesswoman in Coco and helped her acquire her legendary location at 31 Rue de Cambon in Paris by 1910.

Main Features----Signature interlocking double-C logo:You’ll be attracted by the signature Chanel logo, an interlocking double-C, one facing forwards and the other facing backwards. For example, for Chanel handbags, we can see front embossed CC logo, CC logo charm, even CC logo lining. It is always colored black, silver or gold. All Chanel fans show their crazy love toward the double-C.

In February 1955 Chanel introduced the 2.55 bag named after the launch date. Chanel classic 2.55 bag has become an icon bag the same as Hermes Birkin. Chanel revolutionized the small handbag by adding long shoulder straps to Chanel quilted handbag. Coco Chanel wanted a bag to free up her hands. Chanel provided bags in her brand colour palette: brown, beige, black and blue. Also Karl Lagerfeld has experimented with the 2.55 - providing it in terry cloth, tweed, however he has always kept the main elements unchanged, such as quilting, chain and lock. 2.55 bag is a must have for all collectors.

Typical characteristics of Chanel handbags are: quilted leather, chain, textured fabric and legendary CC symbol.
